Pratap Vidya Mandir English Medium School celebrated National Reading Day on June 20, 2022.It is celebrated to honor the father of the library movement in Kerala. observe his death anniversary National Reading Day is celebrated nationally.
PVM English medium school had taken a great initiative in preparing a well planned agenda to commemorate the day. School management and staff members played a vital role in promoting the slogan " Read and grow".
The day started with lightening the lamp by our Principal Shri.Rajeesh B. and Vice Principal Mrs.Nikhila Rajeesh. Many students expressed their thoughts on reading and some conveyed valuable points on the life history of P.N.Panicker. Placards and posters were displayed in the assembly. Stressing on the importance of reading Mrs.Chetana Teacher of Hindi Department orated the need of vocabulary and stressed the students to cultivate the reading habits. Mrs.Kavita Sonawane of Marathi Department introduced a Marathi text book "Shyam Chi Aai".Mrs.Jyothi V Pillai of English Department exhibited Dr.A.P.J.AbdulKalam's Wings of Fire.
As per the CBSE circular which mentioned the vision of our Prime minister to propagate the message of Read and grow, school emphasized all the students to take Reading Day Pledge
Towards the end of the programme school Principal addressed the students and created awareness among the students about the importance of reading. The programme came to an end with a new term introduced by our Principal which fostered "Read, Revise and Review".
