Chopda: 'Prevention is better than cure' is a well known proverb that we often say but fail to follow in our daily life. But recently, a teacher of PVM English medium school has put it into practice and set a good example for the society.
The computer teacher, named Avishna Krishnan , has thus become the topic of discussion in school by her selfless attitude and sensible behaviour during the third wave of Covid-19 in the state.
Two weeks ago, one of the teachers of PVM Engish medium school had tested positive for Covid-19 and unfortunately, it happened to be Avishna's friend and roommate.
However, she rose to the occasion by taking a bold decision that she would take care of her dearest colleague, staying with her in the same house.
Despite not having any symptoms of Covid-19, she decided to isolate herself in another room for a fortnight and took care of her sick colleague by providing her with food and medicine regularly. Yet, she never failed to continue her daily online class from home.
Thus, the wise decision and social commitment of a teacher successfully prevented the spread of Covid-19 in the school and locality. Now, her friend has tested negative and both are back in school after two weeks of home quarantine.
The principal and teachers of the school appreciated Avishna's caring attitude and responsibility to the society. PVM English medium is very proud to have a teacher like her.
Our society needs more people like Avishna to prove that social commitment is not just a word, but a responsible act.
