Pratap Vidya Mandir English Medium School celebrated National reading day on June 19, 2023 Monday.It is celebrated to honor the father of the library movement in Kerala.To observe his death anniversary National Reading Day is celebrated nationally.

PVM English medium school had taken a great initiative in preparing a well planned agenda to commemorate the day. School management and staff members played a vital role in promoting the slogan "Don't Forget to read".

The day started with lightening the lamp by our Principal Shri.Rajeesh B. and Shri.Govind Gujarathi.Coordinator Chopda Education society, Chopda and Secretary of Granthshala( NAGAR VACHAN MANDIR) in Chopda addressed the students about the importance of reading.

On account of Reading Day Ms.Ruby Ma'am donated books to school library.

Many students expressed their thoughts on reading and some conveyed valuable points on the life history of P.N.Panicker. Stressing on the importance of reading Mrs.Chetana Badgujar of Hindi Department orated the need of vocabulary and stressed the students to cultivate the reading habits. Mrs.Pratibha Dhangar of Marathi Department introduced a Marathi text book about Swami Vivekanand. Mrs.Varsha Somwanshi introduced Shri Chetan Bhagat's Five Point Someone.

Miss. Anuja Umesh Patil of Class 7 introduced the seven series of Harry Potter.

Mrs.Jyotsna, Department of Science stressed the importance of reading and the habit of cultivating reading.

As per the CBSE circular which mentioned the vision of our Prime minister to propagate the message of Read and grow, school emphasized all the students to take Reading Day Pledge and Miss Avishna Krishnan delivered the pledge.

Towards the end of the programme school Principal Shri.Rajeesh B. addressed the students and created awareness among the students about the importance of reading. He emphasised that reading should not be running along the lines. Instead read with imagination was the message delivered by the Principal.
